Tutorial Tuesday- How To Come Up With A Blog Post!

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Hi everyone! So, before I start this post, I just wanted to note that I've done a whole month of Tutorial Tuesdays! So now I want to know- what did you think? Do you want to see more Tutorial Tuesday posts? Or did you not like them at all? Share your thoughts below, and I'd love if you'd also vote on the poll!
So, for today's Tutorial Tuesday, I'm doing a bit of an ironic topic-how to come up with a blog post! Seeing as this is something I struggle with myself, it's kind of funny that I'm trying to write about it, but I know that I'm not the only one with this problem! So, I thought, why not write on it?

1. Figure out what you enjoy writing about

If you don't enjoy the topic, why write about it? Figure out what YOU like to write about. Whether it's books, fashion, DIY's, or food, figure out what you like!

2. Think of a way to put an interesting twist on it!

Do you like blogging about food? Show us those cupcakes that didn't turn out so well! Are you a fashion blogger? Take us along with you on your next shopping trip! Show us a bit more!

3. Try a new type of post!!

The internet is full of posts giving ideas for a blog post! Here are some of my favorites!

-Review something
-Do a vlog
-Show us your favorite products
-Tell us something about your life!
-Do a room tour
-Give us some organizational tips
-Trade blogs with a friend for the day
-Do a DIY
-Teach us something that you do well
-Tell us a funny story
-Show us your favorite app or website
-Introduce us to your pet
-Post about your go-to look
-Tell us about a recent trip you took
-Write about your favorite childhood memory
-Show us how to make your favorite snack

Well, hopefully this post has given you a bit of inspiration! I'll have to look back at it next time I need some inspiration! ;) Remember to comment and let me know your thoughts on Tutorial Tuesday!

ELF Brush Review!

Saturday, January 24, 2015

So, as you all know, I absolutely love E.L.F. products. They're such great products for a super low price! Plus, they're sold at Target, which is practically my second home. ;) Anyways, for Christmas, I got this awesome 10 piece brush set, and I am in LOVE.

(I'm sorry for the fact that you can see my reflection in the pictures, they put this stupid reflective paper in the back of the package. REALLY, elf? It's horrible if you want to photograph it!)
ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL??? I love it. Anyways, let's move on, and I'll tell you about these beautiful brushes!

1. Total Face Brush

This brush is so big and fluffy, I love it. I use it for my pressed powder to set my foundation. It works really well, I use it every day!

2. Blush Brush

I actually already had this brush, I bought it individually last year. I really love it, its shape is perfect to use pressed powder in harder to reach places that the Total Face Brush doesn't reach quite as well. It's another must-have!

3. Foundation Brush

This brush is really not my favorite in the pack. It's nothing against the brush itself, but I don't like using flat foundation brushes. I much prefer to use a stippling brush, as I feel it gives me better coverage and more of an airbrushed look.

4. Brow Comb and Brush

This is a two in one brow comb and brush, and I really like it! It's great to use to shape your brows, and I like to use it before setting them with clear brow gel.

5. Eyelash & Brow Wand

This one isn't my favorite either. I much prefer to use the brow comb and brush as opposed to this wand. I also wouldn't use it on my eyelashes, because I don't do anything to them before I put on mascara, and it would be much too hard to clean if I used it after mascara. I actually like using the brow comb to comb through my eyelashes if I have clumps. This brush isn't worth it, in my opinion.

6. Eyeliner Brush

I'm going to admit that I haven't used this brush much. I don't wear eyeliner on a daily basis, as it just doesn't look that great on me. From what I can tell though, it works a lot better than just using the brush that comes with liquid eyeliner.

7. Concealer Brush

This one isn't one of my top favorites, but it works well enough. Honestly, I think that I can get better coverage with my fingertip than with this brush.

8. Eyeshadow Brush

This is another of my favorite brushes. It applies the eyeshadow all over my lid very well, and very evenly. I love it!

9. Smudge Eye Sponge

I'm not a huge fan of using sponges on my eyes, but altogether it works pretty well. I just don't really like sponges, as they seem rather cheap to me. Oh well.

10. Lip Defining Brush

I really like this one! It works super well, and I feel like it can be used for things other than lips.

Well, there you have it! All in all, I'm really happy with this brush set. I also got a smaller brush set from ELF, and if you'd like to see my review on that, then please comment below!! :)

Winter Lip Routine!

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

Hi everyone! So, just a quick tidbit, if you're like me, in the winter, our lips get really chapped and dry. Then, they look really gross when you try and put gloss or lipstick on. SO, I've found the perfect lipcare routine to keep your lips soft, moisturized, and gorgeous!

Step One: Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!!!!

Your lips can't stay healthy if you have dead skin on them! I like to take my toothbrush and gently run it across my lips to exfoliate them. If your lips are extra sensitive, you can do the same thing with a warm washcloth.

Step Two: EOS!

I'm currently still in love with my Rachel Roy EOS, so I like to use a layer of that on my lips first as a base. It's my absolute favorite EOS!

Step Three: Baby Lips- Dr. Rescue!

I got this Baby Lips: Dr. Rescue in Charleston at Target, and after I apply the EOS, I like to apply a coat of this. It really keeps your lips healthy and moisturized.

And, that's it! :) Super fast, and it works great! What do you like to use on your lips? Let me know in the comments!

Tutorial Tuesday- S'mores Trail Mix!

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

Hi everyone!! :) I've been super busy this past week, but I've still created my Tutorial Tuesday post for you all! Now, I don't know about you, but I LOVE s'mores. They're so gooey and yummy, and agh! I love them. (Tip- if you want to make them REALLY delicious, replace the Hershey's bar with a Reese's cup chopped up. Oh dear heavens, it is delicious!) But sometimes I don't have the time or energy to make a real s'more, or I may not have all of the ingredients. That's where S'mores Trail Mix comes in! It takes all of three minutes to make, and it's super delicious. You could even make a huge batch of it, put it in little baggies, and have the perfect snack when you're running out the door! I'll admit, this isn't the healthiest recipe, but I mean, we're talking about s'mores here. Unhealthiness is kind of implied. ;) Anyways, it's fast and delicious, so I'm super excited to share it with you all!

Step One: Get out your ingredients!

First up, we have Golden Grahams cereal! It's so crunchy and sweet and agh!
Next up, you of course need some chocolate! I like to use milk chocolate chips, but if you want something other form of chocolate, it really doesn't matter. Chopped up candy bar, dark chocolate, semisweet, whatever you'd like!
And of course, marshmallows! How can you have s'mores without marshmallows?

Step Two: Mix them all together!

Just mix them all together, and there you have it! A delicious s'mores trail mix! I probably put too many marshmallows into mine haha, but what can I say, I love them? :)

And that's it!! It's such a delicious, easy snack for those days when you don't have time for anything else. I hope that you enjoy it! Let me know what you think in the comments!

You Know You're a Bookworm When....

Saturday, January 17, 2015

...You're watching Beauty and the Beast, and you always get mad when Gaston throws Belle's book into the mud because HE JUST RUINED HER NEW BOOK!!! HOW DARE HE???? IT'S A PRECIOUS BOOK!!!!!!!!

Disney Tsum Tsums!

Friday, January 16, 2015

Guys, I have a new obsession. Well, it's not exactly new. Over the past month, it's been growing and growing. But I'm absolutely in love. If you haven't heard of them yet, then let me introduce....Disney's Tsum Tsums!!!
They are absolutely the CUTEST things in the world. I got a Marie Tsum Tsum for Christmas, and here's what she looks like-

Isn't she adorable??? Tsum tsums are these cute, roly-poly stuffed animals that you just want to hug to death. This is a larger version, I happen to love the little ones as well.

I'm seriously in love. They're just so tiny and cute! The smaller ones average around five dollars each, while the larger ones go for around twelve or thirteen dollars each. If I had enough cash, let me just tell you, I would get one of each character!!!
Oh! And just when you think it can't get better, it does. They also have an app!
The app is free (at least in the Apple store, I don't know about Android. Sorry! Android users, let me know!), but I would probably buy it if it wasn't, and I never actually buy apps. I know, I'm weird, but I don't see a ton of point in paying money just for a game. You connect the adorable Tsum Tsums, earning coins to buy more Tsums to play with. It's very simple, and I've got to say, it's addictive! My favorite Tsum to play as so far would have to be Maleficent, with Marie being a close second. On my app, I've tried playing as Micky, Minnie, Woody from Toy Story, Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Anna from Frozen, The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, and Goofy. Marie and Maleficent work the best consistently, so I love them.
Have you tried playing Tsum Tsums? If not, I highly recommend that you go and try it, ASAP! :)

Tutorial Tuesday- Binder Covers!!!

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Hi everyone! So, for today's Tutorial Tuesday post, I decided to show you how I make my binder covers. Since it's the beginning of a new semester, it's a perfect time to spice up those boring binders from last semester. After all, in my opinion, it's a lot easier to deal with having to look at those evil school supplies every day if they're pretty!!

Step One : Pick a background print!

So, what I like to do is to go to Google and type in, "_______ iPhone background. " In this case, I wanted a yellow chevron print, so I type in "Yellow Chevron iPhone background". iPhone backgrounds are the best to use because they're rectangular like a sheet of paper.

Step Two : Open Word and insert your image!

Step Three : Resize the Image

To do this, all you do is resize the margins so that they are at 0, and then drag the image out to take over the entire sheet of paper. :)

Step Four : Celebration!! :D

Woo hoo! You've gotten this far!! It took me a good hour to figure out how to do this my first time, but then again, I didn't have a tutorial to teach me! Anyways, now you have your pattern covering your screen, so congratulations!!! It should look something like this-

Step Five : Add your text

Now, you'll want to put the subject name! All that you have to do is create a text box and drag it where you'd like on the paper. Then, type your subject name.

But don't worry, it won't look this blah for long!!! Because....

Step Six : Cute-ify Your Cover!!!!

That's right ladies, time for the best part- making it look cute!!! :) I like to center the title, and then put it in a cute font. My favorite font on Word is Curlz MT. It's so cute and girly!!

Step Seven : Add some symbols for flair!

I like to add some of those cute copy-and-paste symbols on either side of the title. :) For this cover, I decided to go with flowers.

And, there you go! You have a cute binder cover! I like to make these for all of my subjects. :)

So, what do you think? It's super simple, and I love making my school supplies look nice. If you have any questions, just let me know in the comments!!!

Mini Haul- Old Navy / Nail Polish

Sunday, January 11, 2015

Hi everyone! So, today I have a mini-haul to share with you, two things that I got recently at Old Navy. I think that I actually purchased these in December, but I've had so much blogging material to cover that I'm just now getting around to showing you. My life has been so crazy, and with so much to blog about, it's hard to share it all!!! Anyways, enough chit chat, on to the haul! :)
I absolutely LOVE this sweater. It's really warm and soft, even though it's very lightweight. I've been wearing it around the house CONSTANTLY, and ladies, I am in love. I really like the grey with this light pink lip color that I got at H&M in Charleston this past fall. ( If you want to see that post, the link is here .

Speaking of light pink, I ADORE this nail polish color! It's by Sally Hansen, and it's called You're Crabby. My sister received it for Christmas, and I absolutely had to try it out. ;) I really like it with the sweater!
My second purchase from Old Navy were these cute sleep shorts. They have these tiny bows on them, and I think that they're absolutely adorable! For some reason it made my carpeting look really yellow haha. I guess that the lighting in my room is just bad. ;) Oh well. I love these shorts!!

So, like I said, this is a mini-haul, so that's all I have to show from Old Navy. One more thing though...
IT'S A MICKEY WAFFLE!!! I know, I know. I'm a mature teenager, this shouldn't make me so happy. But it does!!! Agh! I love it! For Christmas, we got this waffle maker that makes Mickey waffles, and we just tried it out. Aren't they adorable?? I seriously love it. Although I've got to say, I feel kind of bad eating Mickey Mouse. Oh well. Mickey, you're delicious!

Well, that's all for now! I'm off to get some schoolwork out of the way so that I'll have more time to prepare fun posts for you all! :)

Love,
Grace Anne

Christmas!! :)

Thursday, January 8, 2015

Hi everyone! So, I know that this post is a little late, but I've been experiencing some tech difficulties. Nevertheless, here I am, ready to show you all some of the things that I received for Christmas!! :)

So, I got this oversized nightshirt/nightgown from Forever 21, and I'm in love. Believe it or not, this is actually the smallest size! But that's basically my life motto, so it was perfect :)
This was one of my stocking stuffers, E.O.S shaving cream. I haven't tried it, but it's in the scent vanilla bean, and oh my gosh, it smells SO good. I wish I could get a lip balm in that flavor!! I would seriously wear that scent in anything. Hand sanitizer, lotion, lip balm, perfume, anything!!! You could actually use this cream as a lotion, it's really moisturizing. I'm not sure where you can buy it, but I think I've seen one in the raspberry pomegranate scent at Target.
This sweatshirt is from Delia's, and I'm absolutely in love. OH! Have I mentioned that Delia's is closing? Yep, I'm heartbroken. The company is completely closing. :'( I can't believe it. It was such a great store. I'm totally devastated. At least I have a bunch of clothes from there to enjoy! This sweatshirt is this great heathery color, and it has this super pretty, elegant lace backing.
Here's the back of it up close. Isn't the lace pretty?
That's right guys, Simba is officially in my life! Do you remember him from a few months ago? I ended up getting him for Christmas, and I absolutely love him. :) You can find the initial post about him here .
So, you guys know me, I love jewelry! I got a bunch of it for Christmas, including this ring, which I thought was really pretty. :)
I think that this little owl ring is just so cute!!!
This ring is probably my favorite. I've been wanting one like this, so when I got one I was so happy!! :):):)
These earrings were a gift from my grandma, and I think that they're really pretty!
Aren't these bows adorable?? Agh!! #bowsbeforebros
Sorry that this picture is sideways, but I couldn't get it to rotate for some reason. :P Anyways, this is a necklace that I got from Hot Topic, and OMG, isn't it adorable???? I love it so much. But wait, there's more-
Agh!!! Fangirl attack!! I just adore this necklace. It's so sweet!
Speaking of Disney, isn't this Little Mermaid necklace cute? I love that there's a dinglehopper!
This is one of those figurines from Hallmark, and I absolutely love it. It's so cute! It's sitting on my vanity table now. :)
Here's another Hallmark figurine. Me + Lion King = Happiness!!
This shirt is so amazing. It's from Aeropostale, and it totally describes me!! :) Plus, it's from the Bethany Mota line, which makes it even better ;)

So, that's some of the stuff that I got for Christmas!! If you enjoyed this post, I can share some more of my Christmas presents throughout the month. :) Let me know what you think, and what you got for Christmas down below in the comments!! :)

Tutorial Tuesday- Sock Bun!!

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Hello everyone!! Happy Tutorial Tuesday!! So, for my first tutorial, I decided to teach you all how I do a sock bun. :) For the longest time, I struggled with how to do a sock bun. There are MILLIONS of tutorials for them online, but what really works? I tried so many different tactics before finally finding one that worked best.

Who knew that one little sock could cause so much trouble???????

So, in order for you guys to not go through all of the pain and suffering of trying a million different methods, I'll show you how I do one. :)

First, you put your hair in a high ponytail, wherever you'd like the bun to be. I typically use nude hair elastics, but I used colored so that you all could see them better. :)

Next, you put the donut, or sock, through the ponytail and over the elastic.

After that, you basically fold the hair over the sock, and cinch it with another hair tie. The rest of the hair should dangle out.

You then gather the hair together and wrap it around the bun. Hold it in place with yet another hair tie.

I sometimes stop at the last step, but sometimes it's fun to put a fun hair wrap around the bun for a nice little POP of color. :) It's that simple! It only takes me about five minutes to do this one, so it's super simple. I hope that this helped you to learn how to create a sock bun! Let me know what you think in the comments!! :)

Happy January!!

Thursday, January 1, 2015

Happy January, everyone!! Wow, this is my first post of 2015!! So weird O.o I hope that you had a good New Year's Eve! I had a nice quiet night at home, spent watching movies, and then the ball drop in Times Square. It would be really fun to be there in Times Square, wouldn't it? I've never been, but I'd like to. Then again, when I was watching, they said that the bystanders had been waiting there for twelve hours. I'm not quite sure if I'd be willing to do that!
Have you made any New Year's resolutions? I need to make some for myself, but I'm really bad at keeping to them. I'll usually keep my resolutions for about a week, and then I forget about them entirely. I do have a New Year's resolution for Totally Graced!!! I resolve to post at least 2x a week. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do this every week, but it's my goal. I'd like to post more than that, but hey, twice a week is a start!!
I also have something new that I'll be doing here at Totally Graced for the month of January- Tutorial Tuesdays!! Every Tuesday, I'll post a tutorial for a DIY, a beauty tutorial, or something else like that. If you all like it, I'll keep Tutorial Tuesdays up for the rest of the year! What do you think?
Anyways, with that piece of news out of the way, back to January. I've got to admit, it's not my favorite month. After the holidays, it's kind of a letdown. It's also super cold, and I don't like being cold haha. Oh well. I do like getting to curl up under a big blanket with a book and hot chocolate. I still won't mind it once it warms up again!! :):)
Well, that's all for now! I hope that you have a wonderful January, and thank you for reading! If you have anything to say, please comment below!! :) <3
