Weekly Wrap-Up

Saturday, January 30, 2016

Hey everyone!! How has your week been? Mine has been alright, fairly busy. But that's life lately I suppose, haha! Lots of rehearsals, trying to catch up on school, etc. There are worse ways to spend a week, though!

I don't really have any interesting stories to share with you all. Which is kind of pathetic. Hmm. Like I said, most of the week was spent going to rehearsals and getting random stuff done. I can't think of anything stupid that I did either, so I can't really entertain you all with that.

OH! I somehow burnt pasta. How in heaven's name I managed to do that I don't know, but a bunch of the spaghetti I made had burnt ends. Cooking isn't my thing. At all.

Also, HOW IS JANUARY ALMOST OVER???? It's so weird. In a way it seems like New Year's was ages ago, but at the same time I can't believe that it's almost February and time for Valentine's Day. So weird.

Made Me Smile:

Phone calls, FaceTimes, and texts from my friends who were at competition this weekend. They actually FaceTimed me during the competition so that I could watch!!! They're seriously the best.

Getting to chapter four in my novel!! I'm getting to the point where it doesn't take as long to write, because I know how I want it to work. It's so much fun!

Pizza dinners:)

Having a class that you reallyyyyyyyyy don't want to go to get cancelled. Best. Feeling. Ever!!!

Ugh:

Early morning rehearsals that aren't close to my house. Agh, mornings aren't my time of day.

Waking up randomly sore? Like, why?? Did someone attack me in my sleep or....?

WHY IS EYELINER SO HARD? One minute I'm thinking I have plenty of time to get ready and the next I have a black eye and two minutes to get out the door.

I keep thinking about how hard it's going to be to get this glitter nail polish off and I'm already dying.

Headaches.

Loving:

The Hamilton soundtrack. Oh. My. Gosh. I am hardcore obsessed.

Hot glazed doughnuts *insert heart eye emoji*

Fuzzy socks

The fact that it hasn't been *quite* as cold lately!!

Re-reading Pride and Prejudice. It's so perfect.

Pinning:

I'm kind of obsessed with these

These are just so pretty! They make me think of spring:)

Can I please have her hair?

This is such a cool ring

Ouch

Gosh I love this kitchen

Nail Art Challenge- Part One!!

Friday, January 29, 2016

Hey everybody! So, the other day I told you all about how I've decided to do the Nail Art Challenge. I'm probably going to regret this decision later, but oh well.

I decided to start with something SUPER simple. Pink nails, with a silver glitter accent nail. Here's the original image, which I found on Pinterest.

Simple enough, right??

Here's my version-

I don't think that it went too badly, if I do say so myself. I used a different color pink, but that's kind of irrelevant. I used Muchi Muchi by Essie for the pink, and the silver is a polish that my sister got from Icing. (I'm dreading having to take off the glitter polish, but that's irrelevant.)

I don't think that I'd keep my nails like this too often, just because I keep seeing the shiny silver out of the corner of my eye, and it keeps distracting me so I'm going slightly crazy. Otherwise, I like it! It would be fun for a special occasion, maybe with a black dress.

Side note: TAKING PHOTOS OF YOUR NAILS IS HARD, GUYS. For some strange reason I really hate my hands, so having to take a photo of them is extremely annoying. I can't figure out a "pose" that doesn't look super awkward and dumb. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH THIS?? I MIGHT LOSE MY MIND.

--------

So what do y'all think? Do you like this style? Any tips for photo-taking?

The Nail Art Challenge!!

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

I'm probably going to regret doing this. In fact, I'm certain that I'm going to regret it. Oh well- it will make for some really funny blog posts!!

Let me introduce......The Nail Art Challenge!!!

Here's how it's going to work! I've picked out some different nail art ideas on Pinterest that I'd like to try. At least once a week, I'll have to try one of the ideas myself and show you all how it turned out. I'm pretty terrible at nail art, so it's going to be both a learning experience for me, and a bit of a Pinstrosity for you all!!! So sit back and get ready to laugh at my lack of art skills....

The ideas I'm going to attempt-

Simple enough...right?

Ombre! I can totally do this...

Dotssssss

I've always wondered if using tape for French tips would work...I guess we're going to find out!

-------

I might add or change a few of these, but currently this is what I'm planning to try.

-------

Which of these is YOUR favorite? Do YOU like nail art? How do you like YOUR nails? Which one of these should I do first?

Weekly Wrap-Up

Saturday, January 23, 2016

Hello, lovely humans! Goodness, I haven't done a Weekly Wrap-Up post in forever! My last one was at the end of October, that's so crazy. I don't know if y'all enjoy reading them, but I just love writing these posts up, they're so much fun!

My week has been pretty typical, a good week overall. Everything has been super busy lately, which has been kind of stressful. School, rehearsal, friends, life- it's craziness! It's fun though. To add more excitement to the mix, we've finally gotten snow! I shared that we got some snow flurries on Wednesday afternoon, but then last night we got actual snow! As in, my backyard is currently white. Oh my gosh, I love it. Waking up to everything being white is so much fun, and it's so beautiful. Plus, it got us out of a three hour rehearsal first thing this morning, which certainly didn't hurt my feelings haha! It's been nice to have a day at home to do school and just get caught up on life.

Lately rehearsals have gotten intense, with rehearsals three times a week. These rehearsals are for my sisters' show, but I'm the dance captain, so I go to every rehearsal along with them. It's a lot of work, but it's fun. I'm also doing crew, and hair and makeup for the show, so that's going to be a lot of fun. I love theatre, and even though it's stressful, I can't wait for show week! It's seriously the best.

Oh! Here's a good story for you all- I ended up teaching some dance classes this week! At my fine arts group, I'm in the dance company. There's one teacher for the company, and then there's another teacher for the high school and middle school dance classes. I've taken a class with the other teacher before, and she's also the choreographer for the show I'm helping with, so I know her pretty well. On Sunday, I found out that she was sick and not going to be able to teach her classes on Monday, so...she asked me to teach her classes for her! I was really nervous (some of the students are older than I am!), but it was SO much fun. I really enjoyed it a lot! I expected to be freaking out practically the whole time, but honestly once I started I wasn't nervous at all, and I was able to enjoy it. It was a super fun experience!

Made Me Smile:

SNOWWWWWWWWW

Fun Bible studies

The whole teaching thing was so much fun, and I seriously love everyone in those classes so much, they're great.

Writing almost three chapters of my novel! It was getting really frustrating for a while, but I finally worked out some issues and now I'm really happy with how it's going.

I finally got my room cleaned up too, and I'm a lot less stressed out now that it's actually semi-organized.

DID I MENTION SNOW IT'S JUST SO WONDERFUL

Ugh:

Cold weather. When it's not snowing, the cold and I do not get along.

Drama. I really hate it.

Anatomy and I are not friends. I get grossed out way too easily. My teacher has a ton of really awesome stories, but some of them freak me out a bit too much...

Loving:

PANDORA. I literally just got it this week because I needed music for the dance class, and I'm kind of obsessed.

The Sensitive Jack Kelly Twitter account. If you're a Newsies fan, it's honestly the funniest thing in the entire world.

My 5 year journal. It's so much fun, and I'm really proud that I haven't missed a day yet!

The fact that Carrie St. Louis and Ally Fox are going to Wicked on Broadway!! I saw them when they toured and they're both so phenomenal, I'm so excited for them.

The song "Drops of Jupiter". I know it's old but it's been stuck in my head all week and I just really love it.

Pinning:

My friend showed me this quote one time at school, and I've loved it ever since. It's just so beautiful.

This outfit is impeccable.

Pride and Prejudice is life, guys..

Her hair is legitimately perfect.

These made me laugh so hard...if you understand this, you are an amazing human and you deserve a cookie.

I'd love to make a headboard like this.

How was your week?

GOOD Things About Winter- Wait, They Exist??

Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Guess what happened today.

IT FINALLY SNOWED!

IN THE SOUTH!!!

Granted, it was for less than an hour. Tiny flurries. Still, it was so much fun to see snow. I really love it. Apparently my cat does, too.

It's really kind of hilarious how the South freaks out about snow. It literally snowed for an hour, and they were talking about closing schools tomorrow. Gosh, I love where I live.

It's been soooooo cold lately. Well, cold for here. It was in the thirties and I was dying. I've been cold basically all day, I'm just now actually warming up after having a shower and curling up with a Hallmark movie. (It's really cute, by the way. It also may or may not be a Christmas movie. Don't judge me.)

There's been a consistent thought running through my head today. Elsa lied. Sorry Elsa, but the cold does bother me. A lot. So could you warm things up please? I am not a winter person. Y'all know that. I legitimately have gone around my house with three pairs of socks on, yoga pants, and a giant sweatshirt on top of my regular shirt. I get cold SO easily. Winter and I are not friends.

But I was thinking- there's got to be something good about winter. (Well, actually, I was thinking, gosh I need to blog, but the winter thing was next.)  Thus, I am creating a list.

Good Things About Winter
An official list by an extremely anti-winter Southern girl

1. Hot chocolate
Because yes, technically you *can* drink hot chocolate in the summertime, but it's 10x better in the winter.

2. Big sweaters
They're comfy, they're cute, they're warm. What's better?

3. SNOW
I think that this one's kind of self-explanatory.

4. Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day!
Holidays certainly make everything a bit happier.

5. Curling up under a blanket with a good book
There's nothing like spending a cozy afternoon inside with a book. : )

6. Days spent at home
I love winter days where there's nowhere that I have to go, and I can just stay home where it's warm and comfortable. They're the best.

7. Fuzzy socks
I literally live in them during the wintertime.

8. Sitting next to a roaring fire
The sound of a crackling fire, and feeling its warmth...I love it.

9. Comfy winter pj's
I have so many amazing winter pajamas. It's a miracle I ever get dressed in the wintertime.

10. Fun time with family and friends
Even though it's cold out, there's still lots of fun and warmth indoors. : )

-------

I'm not going to admit just how long it took to come up with that list..but I did it! A list full of GOOD things about winter!

-------

What do you think of wintertime? Do you like it, or are you longing for warm weather again?

2016 Resolutions/Goals, Pancakes, and Life

Saturday, January 16, 2016

Isn't it funny how January, the month typically used to get life back in order and become that person on your New Year's Resolution list, can be so insane? This past week has been absolute insanity for most people that I know, myself included. I don't know if it's just part of getting back into the swing of things or what, but gosh it's stressful. Between school, rehearsals, meetings, etc. it's been a wild week. There seems to be an unusual amount of drama going on with people that I know as well, which adds to the stress. WHY CAN'T YOU ALL JUST GET ALONG AND NOT CAUSE ISSUES?? *steps off of soapbox* Ahem. Anyways.

This morning was really nice, though- my mom tried out a recipe for cinnamon roll pancakes (not sure if this is the right recipe but they're all pretty similar), and they were delicious. Super messy and annoying to make, but they tasted great. I'm pretty sure that if I attempted to make them, though, the kitchen would be destroyed. I think I'll stick to muffin mixes.

So we spent the morning chilling out with our little bites of cinnamon and cream cheese heaven while watching reruns of Girl Meets World. (Yes, it's Disney, don't judge me.) It was super nice to have a break from all of the insanity.

I've spent the rest of the day trying desperately to catch up on schoolwork and to tame the mess in my room. I'm pretty sure that my teachers are trying to drown me in homework this week, even my classes that are typically on the lighter side have had pretty large workloads. Thank you, high school.

I still can't get used to writing 2016. It's really kind of frustrating. I even put wrote 2015 on a card by accident. In my Spanish class the other day, a bunch of us got super confused on the date and wrote 2015 instead. All of my papers look super messy lately thanks to this silly date change haha.

On a similar note- New Year's Resolutions. Gosh, they're daunting. And I'm posting these really late, too. I honestly meant to do it sooner, but I've been super OCD about making them perfect. To be completely honest I'm still not thrilled with the list (I'll probably add to it), but I figured that it's about time that I posted. I've seen a lot of people doing monthly goals instead of yearly resolutions this year, and I like that idea! I've been doing monthly goals here on the blog recently, and I'm planning to keep that up this year. But I still want to have yearly resolutions, too, because it just isn't New Year's without them. (Even though...again..really late...bad Grace Anne.) So, here are my resolutions/goals-

  1. Blog at least 3 times a week (HA I'm doing *great* so far)
  2. Get caught up on Once Upon A Time
  3. Finish my novel (At least the first draft)
  4. Read the whole Bible in a year
  5. Complete the Summer Photo Challenge again
  6. Keep track of every book that I read
  7. Similarly, read over 60 books
  8. Use my planner more often
  9. Go back to ballet
  10. Keep in touch better with friends who I don't see on a weekly basis
  11. Not get stressed out quite so easily
  12. Fully get my splits (Finallyyyyyyyyy. I have the left one, but the other two...yikes.)
  13. Continue with my 5 Year Journal and 52 Lists Project / Journal more often
  14. Play piano more often
  15. Learn to not be quite as negative
  16. Not be quite as scared of telling my friends about this blog
  17. Manage my time more wisely
  18. Finally get up the nerve to redo my room
Aaaaand, January resolutions!!

-Watch more Once Upon A Time
-FINALLY CLEAN MY ROOM/CLOSET
-Get 2-4 chapters of my novel finished
-Read at least one book that I've never read before
-Drink more water
-Plan how I want to decorate my walls

-------

Well, there you have it, my list of resolutions! I really wanted to post them here so at the end of 2016 I could look back and see exactly how I did. It should be fun!!

How has your 2016 been so far?

Best Books That I Read in 2015!

Monday, January 11, 2016

I've been thinking back over 2015, and one thing that stood out to me was how many great books that I read this year! Despite all of the busyness, I really did do a lot of reading this past year, and I thought that I'd show you all some of my favorites!

(Note: These aren't in any particular order- I can't pick favorites!)

1. Harry Potter

I finished the Harry Potter series this year, and then I re-read a few books, just for good measure;) I can't say enough good things about these books. My favorite would probably have to be Prisoner of Azkaban, which my sister still needs to read but they're all just so great. J.K. Rowling seriously knows how to draw you into this world that she's created.

2. Every Soul A Star

I know that I've already raved about this book waaaaaaay too much, and I'm not going to bore you all to death again. But oh my word, it's such a good book. It's just so beautiful. Please, go read it.

3. Secret Letters

I actually already did a review of this book here, but I just have to bring up again how good of a book that it is. It's such a compelling mystery, and I'm absolutely dying for a sequel!

4. The Hunger Games

The entire Hunger Games series is so great. I wasn't as big of a fan of Mockingjay, but as a whole it's a really fascinating series. I've become *minorly* obsessed...

5. Graceful

Another Wendy Mass book, Graceful  is a great ending to the series. I've already reviewed it here, and there really isn't anything else that I can say besides that this is an amazing book and you should DEFINITELY read it.

6. Romeo Blue

Romeo Blue was such a sweet book, my goodness. I loved it. Phoebe Stone did such a great job writing a romance from World War II, and it absolutely ripped my heart out at certain points. It was fabulous.

7. The Outsiders

I actually had to read The Outsiders for school, and I fell in love with it. I'd heard that it was a good book, but I had no idea how much I would connect with it, and how great of a story that it was. Now I get why it's a classic.

8. Emma

This is another one that I had to read for school, and actually enjoyed. By the time I was finished I was a bit sick of it, just from working on it so much, but it was a good book.

What did you read in 2015?

Fun Journaling Ideas for 2016!!

Saturday, January 9, 2016

As y'all might know, I'm a huge fan of journaling. I absolutely love to write, and recording life is just such a special thing. There's nothing that I love more than looking back through old journals and remembering tons of fun times, inside jokes, remembering emotions and people and experiences. But I'm the first to admit that I'm terrible at actually keeping a journal. I love it, but gosh, I'm so bad at it! I always forget to write, or I procrastinate doing it, and then I'm so long winded that it takes forever. It's so frustrating! I really hate it because journaling is something that I really care about, but I just don't do it enough.

For Christmas this year, I got not one but TWO awesome journals. I was so excited to receive them, and I've been having a great time filling them in.

This is the Q&A a Day 5-Year Journal. Each day has a prompt, and four lines to write your answer. You continue the journal for five years, and you get to see how your answers evolve each year! I think that it's such a cool journal, and it literally takes five minutes of your day. I've had so much fun answering each day's question, and it's going to be so much fun to look back over it in a few years! It's such a great way to record life.

I absolutely love this journal! You only have to do it once a week, and the prompts are really great. Plus, they're LISTS!! I adore making lists. I'm kind of an OCD list maker, I make lists about everything. So a journal full of lists is absolutely perfect for me. Plus, can we just appreciate how adorable this book is? I love the cover, and each page has cute little sketches on it. Can't get enough of this book!

~~~~~~
These journals are both so much fun! I definitely recommend them to use this year. Do you have any fun journaling ideas? Leave them in the comments below!!
January, A Rant to Businesses, and More!
Tuesday, January 5, 2016
Happy January! Goodness, I haven't posted lately. I honestly meant to get this up on the first or the second, but I just haven't had the chance. Life has been crazy ever since Christmas, and I had to share the awesome interview that I did with Silver Mess with you all! As a result, everything else has kind of gotten pushed back. Not exactly the best way to start off the new year, but oh well. That's life I suppose. I'll work on getting content up more frequently this year!
I can't quite get my mind around the fact that it's 2016- so weird! My mind is still in 2015, honestly. In fact, I have some 2015-centric blog posts planned, haha. I'm such a nostalgic person, it's kind of bad....
I guess that I should be excited for 2016, though. It's a whole year ahead of us that's going to be filled with new experiences, new friendships, new books, new music, new EVERYTHING! So that's exciting, I suppose. I think that I want to keep a memory jar this year, of all the good things that happen throughout 2016. So far, 2016 has been pretty awesome! I've spent a lot of time with friends, and got to go to a show that I've been dying to see, so that was great. Definitely a good way to start 2016!
I'm not a huge fan of January, though. January and February are probably my two least-favorite months of the year. They're just kind of...blah, you know? I'm already getting stressed out about school again, and I've barely started yet. Question, why do teachers feel like they should assign a ton of homework right off the bat? Like, we just got back, do you have to give us panic attack within the first ten minutes?
Also, is it just me, or does anyone else get annoyed by the stores this time of year? It seems like as soon as January 1st hits, all they ever advertise are workout clothes, diet plans, organizational tools, and bathing suits. Maybe that's just me, but I get kind of fed up with all of that. Okay, yes, trying to get into shape and to organize your house are good things. They are! Be productive! BUT! Most people do those things for about three weeks, and then they go back to their regular lives. It's kind of pointless. So, please, don't shove a productive life in my face. I'm over here with my giant sweatshirt eating chocolate. xD
I suppose that I should take some of their advice, though. I do really want to clean my room out and get better organized. I'll probably lose all of this motivation in about a week, but as of right now I'd like to get things in order. Whenever my room is disorganized, I get stressed out a lot easier, and let's face it- I don't need any more stress in my life!
Speaking of getting things done, let's take a look at my December goals..
-----
  • Get Christmas presents done at the BEGINNING of the month, instead of going crazy at the last minute. (This will probably be a fail)
  • BLOG MORE OFTEN (This is a constant resolution)
  • Drink more water
  • Deep-clean my room
  • Start watching Once Upon A Time
  • Do some Christmas themed crafts
  • Read two new books
Let's see. Christmas presents were a bit of a fail, although I wasn't freaking out on Christmas Eve like I usually do. So is that a success? I'm not sure.
I posted ten times in December, which was pretty good. Not as good as some months, but not bad, considering that it's the holidays!
I didn't drink more water...ugh.
Deep-clean my room...hahahahahahahaha
I didn't start watching Once Upon A Time in December, BUT, I watched it on January 1st!!! So I was only a day late! I went to a friend's house and she ended up showing me the first three episodes. I'm hooked.
I didn't really do Christmas themed crafts..that was disappointing..
I didn't get hardly any reading done. That was depressing. I hate being busy haha. Hopefully I'll get to read more this month!
------
I'm also going to be going into turbo-mode with a show that I'm involved in this month. My younger sisters are in the production, and I'm the dance captain, along with doing crew and hair & makeup. It's super fun, but rehearsals are going to be crazy this month. I'm excited, but I admit I'm a little nervous- hopefully we can pull it off!
Another thing that I'm excited for this month is..blogging!! I have some fun posts coming up soon, and they've been a blast to put together. Hopefully y'all will enjoy them, I've been working hard on getting them ready! I'm also hoping to start having a bit of a more regular posting schedule, instead of the sporadic post-whenever-I-can thing that I have going on right now..
Hopefully January will be a great month!
Are you excited for January and the new year???
Interview with Rachel from Silver Mess!!
Monday, January 4, 2016
Hey everyone! Today, I'm here with Rachel, previously from Random Rants by Rcubed, who is launching her new blog, Silver Mess! I was super excited when she invited me to be a part of her blog tour, and today we're having a conversation about beauty, fashion, and more! Keep reading to learn about our favorite products, outfit go-to's, and our style inspiration!!
------------------
What would you say that your personal style is like?
RACHEL: My own personal style is edgy, comfy, and sporty. I don't play a lot of sports, but sports clothes are usually the most comfortable, so you'll usually catch me lounging around in gym shorts and T-shirts. But when I want to dress up a little, I generally wear a lot of black-and-white. I also have these gray pumps from Tilly's that I LOVE and make me feel more businesslike. What about you, Grace?
GRACE ANNE: When I'm not wearing yoga pants (which, let's face it, I am probably 80% of the time...), my style is very girly and feminine. I love to wear dresses/skirts with tights and booties. At the same time though, I'm majorly into black because it just looks so sophisticated and chic! I also love jewelry, and may or may not possibly be a jewelry hoarder…
RACHEL: I love wearing black and white and gray! At the same time, though, I like to experiment with different things. Do you ever wear something different or unconventional just because you want to? Like one time I was getting ready for Homecoming and I decided to randomly throw on a black leather motorcycle jacket and I happened to like it and I ended up wearing it to Homecoming! Do you ever do things like that?
GRACE ANNE: Oh my goodness, I love that idea! I saw a picture of your Homecoming outfit, and it was fabulous. Sometimes the best outfits come from totally spur-of-the-moment choices! I love to just pull a random piece of clothing out of my closet, and then base the entire outfit around it. It's a great way to force yourself to get creative! Getting to be creative with my outfits is one of the reasons that I love fashion so much! When I was younger, my outfits were so colorful and a bit bizarre, but it was so much fun, like a constant game of dress-up. Some of those photos are totally cringe-worthy, though! When did you first start to get into fashion?
RACHEL: Haha, I got into it literally last month! I started noticing how much better I felt when I was wearing something nice, and it just made me more productive and made me feel more professional.
That's not to say that I don't lounge around in comfy clothes--I literally do that all the time--but I learned the value of looking nice. When did you get into style and fashion?
GRACE ANNE: Haha, wow! Clothes are so much fun, and a special outfit can totally change your outlook. I've honestly been into style and fashion for as long as I can remember. I've always loved clothes, and when I was little my sister and I would make whole games revolving around putting together "the perfect outfit", haha! So, do you like to experiment with hair and makeup along with clothes, or do you typically just stick with clothing?
RACHEL: That's so cool! When I was younger, for whatever reason, I thought it would be better for me to be a "tomboy." That kind of ended when I realized I wasn't coordinated at all (lol). I usually stick to clothing, mostly because regular makeup doesn't really adhere well to my facial structure. I have monolid, which basically means I have no eyelid crease, so when I apply makeup, it barely ever shows :( I've gotten more into it, however--I recently found a couple of mascaras that I've been trying out, and so far they're actually doing something to my thin, un-voluminous, short eyelashes! As for hair...I stink at that kind of stuff, mostly because I'm lazy. I usually just put it up in a ponytail or messy bun xD. Do you experiment with hair and makeup along with clothes? If so, what products do you use, or what's your routine?
GRACE ANNE: Haha! I think a lot of kids feel that way--they seem to be one on end of the spectrum or the other. Either they're tomboys or girly, there isn't always much in-between. That stinks about the eyeshadow :/ But new mascara is always a great thing!! What kind of mascara do you like to use? Haha, ponytails and messy buns seem to be my go-to hairstyles for school days. They're so easy, and cute. I love experimenting with hair and makeup! It's so much fun, and I always feel about a million times more put together when I put some makeup on. I tend to use a lot of stuff from ELF and Covergirl, because their products are really affordable, as well as being great quality. As far as hair goes, I don't usually have time to do anything fancy, but when I do, I love going crazy doing different types of curls and braids. My sister has the longest hair ever, so I love to experiment on her! I think that sometimes, hair and makeup can be easier to do on other people. Have you found that to be true, or do you think that it's easier to do on yourself?
RACHEL: I totally agree! I like making other people pretty and experimenting with things that I think will make them look good, but it's so hard when it comes to trying to look decent myself!
I started using the Maybelline (I think it's Maybelline) Falsies for mascara, and I like it! What do you use?
GRACE ANNE: I’ve been trying out a bunch of different mascaras lately, but my favorite would have to be the Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal. It’s the best mascara that I’ve been able to find! I may have to try the Falsies though, that’s one that I haven’t used yet. Is Maybelline your favorite makeup brand?
RACHEL: I’m not quite well-versed enough in makeup to consider it my favorite brand, but really it’s just a mascara that someone recommended to me. I also am using a Stila eyeshadow palette that’s doing really well, considering my eye shape, and I also use the Urban Decay primer potion to make sure the eyeshadow stays on my eyes. What other makeup do you use?
GRACE ANNE: Oh, okay! I haven’t tried Stila yet, although I’ve heard that they have good makeup. I haven’t tried UD’s primer either, although I’ve heard from multiple people that it’s crazy good. Gosh, let’s see- I’m a bit of a makeup hoarder haha. I use ELF products for my eyebrows, face mist, and setting powder- their stuff is great quality for a really low price. I also use UD’s Naked 3 palette for my eyes, and I’ve been using Covergirl Tru Blend foundation, although I want to try a different one soon- it’s a little too dark for me. It’s kind of pathetic when I can’t even wear the ivory foundation, haha! Do you ever have trouble picking out color palettes/makeup shades to match your skin tone?
RACHEL: Wow, you seem so much more advanced in that area than I am! I don't use foundation, so I don't really worry about matching my skin tone. My grandma got me some BB cream a couple of Christmases ago, so I use that occasionally...but other than that, I don't use much skin product.
I should probably go before your readers get bored with my makeup struggles! This has been really fun--thanks so much for having me!
