Weekly Wrap-Up

Sunday, June 19, 2016

Hello, lovelies! How is everyone doing? I hope you're all enjoying summer- I know that I am! (Not that my love for summer is obvious or anything...psh.) It feels like time is flying by, with craziness even during the summer. I love it though- summer craziness is much more enjoyable than the craziness that seems to ensue during the school year!

This week has been fairly busy, but it's been a fun one. Lots of time with friends, which is always good. Some not-so-fun stuff as well, though, like geometry and events that I'd really rather skip. XD Oh well- that's life!!

Heh, so, funny story. I went to a sleepover on Friday night, and we didn't fall asleep until around 6 a.m. I had a blast, but apparently I need more than two hours of sleep. Anyways, sometime before dinner I went up to my room and ended up passing out. When my family woke me up for dinner, I was 100% convinced it was the next morning and could not understand why everyone kept telling me to make myself a sandwich. Then when my family was finally able to convince me that it was nighttime, I became convinced that I'd slept a day and a half. XD I was honestly so confused for at least ten or fifteen minutes, and my family was concerned that I'd gone off the deep end. Yay for awkward Grace Anne stories.

Also in the range of sleepover stories, we attempted to put a rain cover over our tent. Let's just say, when you're all a foot shorter than the tent, it doesn't go too well. It's an adventure, to say the least. XD

Made Me Smile:

Coffee dates with friends <3

Fun ballet classes involving barre work to Lion King music!

THE TONY'S!!!!!!!!!! They were literally the best. If you watched them I love you.

Bonfires and sleepovers and fun.

Ugh:

Geometry. I just cannot seem to finish it to save my life. It's killing me. I'm hoping to finish it this week.

Geometry

Geometry

Did I mention geometry?

Loving:

Warm, sunny days

The Fault In Our Stars. I just watched it for the first time, WITHOUT CRYING! I was so proud XD

Finally having time to READ again!

I slept in a tent for the first time and didn't die. Was pretty proud of that as well. XD

Pinning:

I save way too many home decor pins and I'm not even sorry.

Um, total hair goals right there.

This story absolutely cracked me up!!

*insert heart eye emojis*

I love the idea of filling clear balloons with glitter! If I work up the nerve to have a Sweet Sixteen, I'll totally do that.

  5. AHAAHA WOW LITERALLY MY LIFE, GRACE. I usually like taking naps, but if I take them too late in the day, it's the worst. Because when I wake up I'm all confused and uck, and then I literally cannot go to sleep till like 12 and everyone's already sleeping by then UGHHHH YOU GET ME.
AAAHHH SLEEPOVER AND TENTING! (WAIT THAT'S A WORD WAIT WUT) I think I only helped set up a tent once last summer at a retreat that my friend's were hosting. It didn't go too well, i think. BUT HEY IT'S AN ADVENTURE AND THAT'S WHAT COUNTS <3

    1. IT IS HORRIBLE. Good point, the good always can balance out the bad! But geometry is the most evil thing in the world soooooooo I think I need some more coffee dates. Or just coffee so I don't fall asleep trying to do geometry.
XD Glad that they made you laugh!!
      Thanks for stopping by, Emily!!

  9. Your nap story cracked me up but I can relate. I can't take naps because then I don't where I am and what it is. Those evil things can either really help you or totally destroy you.
I love that the things that made you smile and you loved are mostly little things we forget to appreciate normally, BIG LIKE FOR THAT. And coffee dates with friends are literally THE BEST. :)
OMG you can dance? That's so cool and I bow down before everyone who can dance. I dance like a bear. *bows deeply*.
By the way those balloons look gorgeous! *gasp* And that hair. I can only dream about that hair, so pretty though. :)

  13. I'm so sorry you have to endure more Geometry. Math is my worst subject, but this year was something special. I had the worst math teacher I think I've ever faced (and I had one that would spit at us, so that's really saying something). She broke the record for yelling at me more than any teacher ever has (and my fifth grade teacher, who had legitimate problems, yelled at me for an hour straight once because I came to class late…with a note from the office too). Once she managed to yell at me three times in under five minutes for three separate things. Oh, and then there was that day that she banned me from asking questions. She said she was tired of talking to me and would not let me ask anymore questions, even though they were legitimate questions about what we were doing right then.

My grades are all As and Bs, but in math they kind of crash and burn. Under the circumstances, I'm proud to have gotten a C in math. If I got a C in English I'd probably set myself on fire, but I started screaming with joy when I found out that my final grade was a C in that class.

    1. Oh my gosh, she sounds like the most evil woman on the planet. I am so sorry that you had to deal with her!! Your fifth grade teacher sounds awful, too. I hate teachers like that so much. Like, if you're going to act like that, why be a teacher? I've been lucky to not have a teacher who's THAT bad, but I had a really horrible teacher one time. She didn't yell too often, but she was really passive-aggressive, constantly making snarky comments and stuff like that. She was so mean. XD

With that teacher, it sounds like a C would be amazing! I'd probably fail tbh.

    2. I've had some pretty bad teachers, that's for sure. A C was total win for me in that situation. Passive-agressive teachers can be just as bad. But I guess the public education experience wouldn't be complete without teachers that make you want to scream, right?

This is unrelated, but I'm starting back up my PR blog and I've love it if you'd check it out. I'm currently writing up a post that should be up by tomorrow morning ( :

  14. Putting up a tent is always an adventure! And I can totally relate to the shorter-than-the-tent problem... :)
