Dancing With The Stars- Week 3!!

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

I loved the opening number- I'm so happy the Muppets are there!!! I love Miss Piggy...

Alfonso is judging! This should be interesting..

Oh my gosh, I love that Erin was missing and Miss Piggy took over! They should have had a clip of MIss Piggy stuffing Erin in a closet or something. Speaking of Miss Piggy, she's been getting around while on the DWTS set-

"I know you can’t take your eyes off moi, but those fantastique #DWTS dancers @alanbersten,@artemchigvintse@keo_motsepe &@derekhough are in this picture, too. And we’re all enjoying every ever-loving well-toned minute of it!" - Miss Piggy

"Here I am showing #DWTS's @tombergeron, my close personal friend - and almost a guest on 'Up Late With Miss Piggy' - the secrets of fabulous hosting." - Miss Piggy

Haha, Derek captioned this, "Where have you been all my life?"

"A great night's work is its own reward, but I'm sure they won't mind if I take the #DWTS trophy home for a little while! Bye!!" -Miss Piggy"

Loved it : ) Now, on to the dancing!

Carlos has the Golden Girls theme song this week. Oh my gosh, it was so funny seeing Witney and Carlos dressed up like old people! I loved that. It reminded me of an Alfonso/Witney routine. Haha, Tom said, "Old hair, young hips!" The judges liked it, although they said he didn't finish his movements. 31/40.

Paula's dancing to the Gilligan's Island theme. Oh my goodness, Paula's so funny- "I want to be Mary Ann! Not the millionaire's wife!" Agh, their package killed me! Paula was talking about how she's been abandoned a ton, and Louis was getting all choked up. It was kind of depressing. I really liked their dance though! Paula looked good. :) The judges are always so hard on her. 20/40.

Tamar is dancing to Mad Men. Hahaha, I love how Tamar always gets mad at Val over his ideas. "That's so sexist!" Anyways. I really didn't love that dance. The judges were extremely complimentary of it, but I just didn't enjoy it. It wasn't bad, the technique was good, it just wasn't a dance I loved. I still feel like Tamar is struggling to connect with Val. 33/40.

Alexa is dancing to Breaking Bad. Mark is super into the theme, it's really hilarious. Technically, their dance was really good, but I wasn't a huge fan of this one either, probably just because I'm not into Breaking Bad. It was very well executed though, and Mark did a good job on the choreography. 36/40.

Andy is dancing to the American Bandstand theme. I've got to applaud them, getting so little sleep, touring, and rehearsing. I don't see how they can do that haha! I really liked their dance!! It was cute, really bright and fun. 29/40- I thought that was a bit too low. It was good!!

Gary is dancing to the Addams Family theme this week. I've been really excited for this week! I'm really impressed by how hard that Gary works. He's really one of my favorites. Oh my gosh, the costumes were fabulous!! And I really loved the dance. It was great! :) Go, Team Gary!!!! He'll definitely be getting some of my votes. 25/40.

Alek is dancing to the True Blood theme. He had a lot of trouble getting into character this week. It was so funny seeing him to try to flirt with the different girls to get into character. xD Jenna (Or was it Brittany? I'm not sure.) said she wanted to go out on a date with him! (I read that that part was actually real! Would that not be the most adorable thing ever?) He did a good job on the dance!! It was very powerful. 33/40.

Kim's had a rough week this week- she suffered a mini-stroke after the show last week. She's not sure if she can dance or not. Jenna did the dance instead of Kim- it was so good! I love I Dream of Jeannie, Unfortunately, since Kim couldn't dance this week, she is having to leave the show due to the rules. I feel really bad for Tony, it seems like he always has horrible luck.

Bindi's dancing to the Jefferson's theme song this week- I'm super excited! I love that song, and I love Bindi, so I'm thrilled. Oh my goodness, apparently they were originally supposed to dance to the Jetsons theme, but the song didn't get cleared, so they had to change. That's disappointing- I know that would have been a great number. Bindi's also having some foot pain, which is sad. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
Oh. My. Gosh. That was amazing!!! And they didn't even have a full week!!! They are SO amazing. The fact that they pulled that off so flawlessly is crazy. I thought the judges were harsh, especially considering they had a whole different routine worked out previously. 32/40.

Nick is dancing to the Downton Abbey theme. He got really frustrated this week, but I think that he's just a really hard worker and he expects a lot out of himself. Wow, that was really pretty! Sharna's costume is gorgeous, and the choreography was beautiful. I loved it. Obviously, the judges agreed- 36/40. (I love how he got so excited that he broke the glass, that was hilarious!)

Hayes is dancing to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme. I wasn't a huge fan of that dance. Parts of it were good, but parts of it I just didn't like. Maybe it's just because I don't really like the Ninja Turtles. I have mixed feelings toward this number... 30/40.

-----------------------------

Now, time for the worst part of the night, elimination.

In jeopardy...Andy

NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also in jeopardy....Paula

NO NO NO NO NO THIS IS TERRIBLE.

-----------------------------

YESSSSSSSS! NO ONE HAS TO LEAVE BECAUSE KIM HAD TO QUIT!!!

-----------------------------

What did you think of the show?

Weekly Wrap-Up

Saturday, September 26, 2015

Hello, lovelies! How are you all? Personally, I just had a bit of a freak out moment because I realized that it's September 26th.

That's really not okay.

October is on Thursday.

Urg. Didn't I just write up my Happy September post a week ago? Okay, okay. I'm not going to go into my "blah blah blah time is going so fast blah blah" rant that I do like, constantly. I promise. Ugh who am I kidding I just did.

This past week has been kind of crazy. Between classes, and school, and appointments, things have been pretty busy. I'm glad that the weekend's finally here, I finally get a bit of a break! I'm planning on trying to get my life together a bit this weekend, do some rehearsing, cleaning, catching up on school, etc. I WILL FORCE MYSELF TO BE PRODUCTIVE. Let's be honest I'll probably just get distracted 10000 times.

Made Me Smile:

Spending an afternoon baking cookies, and then watching a Hallmark movie that night. Sometimes, you're so burnt out from school that it just needs to happen.

I finally picked my audition pieces! I have an audition for a musical on Monday....agh. I suppose I should file that part under 'Ugh'.. Auditions are scary, guys.

Earlier this week, it was "Pirate Day" at Krispy Kreme! Some of my older readers may remember my post on it last year, and I went again this year! The boxes were seriously adorable.

Ugh:

Gigantic history tests. I swear, I'm going to fail...

It's fall. It's o.f.f.i.c.i.a.l.l.y. fall. I will be positive about this!! I will!! I promise!! The fact that this is under Ugh shows just how positive I am.

Loving:

Chocolate peanut butter spread. It's seriously the most amazing stuff in the world.

Working on my novel. It's so much fun!! I'm doing a ton of character development right now, and I'm getting a bit obsessed with it. I'm dying to start actually writing!

Dancing With The Stars! As y'all can tell from my posts, I love that show so much. I'm so glad that it's back!

Pinning:

Oh my gosh, I can't stop laughing...

This is such a cute and comfy outfit!!

I love this hairstyle so much! I wish that my hair was thicker so that I could pull this off. I tried it the other day, and it didn't look too bad. I'll just have to practice!

I love this collage so much..

^So true. Lately I've been super obsessed with hand-lettering, and Pinterest has some fabulous tutorials!

How was your week?

Dancing With The Stars- Week 2, Night Two!!

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Last night was hometown glory night, now it's time to delve into the professional dancers' backgrounds!! So excited for tonight, I love them so much. : )

I loved the opening number! Gosh, the pros on this show are incredible.

(none of these pictures are mine)

First up, Emma and Hayes! Emma is from Tamworth, England. It's such a beautiful place! Emma's dancing to a song that reminds her of her twin sister, Kelly, which was sweet. Haha, Emma trying to explain British lingo to Hayes was hilarious... I really liked that dance!! The choreography was phenomenal, her dress fit the music perfectly, and Hayes executed it really well. 23/30.

Next up, Witney and Carlos! Witney is from American Fork, Utah. Oh my gosh, the fact that Witney, Lindsey, and Jenna all used to watch Dancing With the Stars together, and now they're on the show is so amazing. Literally a dream come true for them. CAN I BE YOU? PLEASE? Dang, that was good! It was super slick and fierce, I loved it. The fact that Carrie Ann wasn't impressed is crazy. It was such a cool dance! 21/30. (Too harsh, guys..)

Hahahaha, oh my gosh.."I'm here doing an empathy squat for Carlos." xD Tom, you never fail to crack me up!

Anna and Gary are up next! Anna's hometown is Chelyabinsk, Russia. Oh my goodness, between Anna's extreme Russian, and Gary's overall crazy hilarity, that was the funniest package ever. I absolutely could not stop laughing. I love this pairing so much.. Anna- "I'm just From Russia With Love. I don't have a name anymore." Haha, I really liked that dance! I mean, I'll be honest, it wasn't perfect. It's a little slow, and he's not the best dancer on the show or anything, but he's so much fun to watch! I would keep him on this show forever if I could. xD I can't express enough how funny he is. Please, go watch him! Watch his package too, it was great. 15/30- IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN HIGHER. (Oh. My. Gosh. "If that's as high as they can count, God bless 'em." I love you, Gary Busey!)

Dancing next, Allison and Andy! Allison is from Utah, but she considers LA her home. They're dancing contemporary to a song that Allison says really describes her, so I'm excited. Contemporary is one of my favorites, and Allison is queen at it. OH MY GOSH THE QUEEN HAS SLAYED. THAT WAS SO GOOD I AM DYING I HAVE CHILLS AGH. AGH AGH AGH. I can't. I. Can't. That was absolutely gorgeous. The choreography was perfect, and it was executed so beautifully. Andy is so funny, "The comment last night, it kept me up! 'you're a musician!' *stabs self*" xD I love him... 23/30.

Next on the floor, Mark and Alexa! Mark grew up in England, and he's dedicating this rumba to his parents. This song is one of the last that his parents danced to as a married couple- I didn't know that they were divorced!! That killed me. I love his parents so much. And Alexa is going to do his mom's signature move. Oh my gosh. I'm going to cry... AGH. That was SO good!!! Alexa nailed Shirley's move. It was absolutely gorgeous and ugh I'm so emotional now this is terrible. Mark looked like he was about to cry at the end, it killed me. His mom was there!!!! And all of the pros knew about Shirley's move, it was really special. 22/30- THEY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ALL EIGHTS UGH. I'm super ticked off right now that should have been higher. (Edit: I'm going back editing this post and I wasn't even exaggerating I was freaking out the whole time...I love his parents so much and this should have gotten higher scores and UGH.)

Louis and Paula are next! Louis is from Amsterdam. OH MY GOSH. Louis's first students were Karina, Maks, Tony and Val!!! That's so special oh my goodness. I love that. My love for Louis has just increased even more. Paula wasn't quite as good tonight as she was last night, there were several mistakes, but she's very sassy and fun to watch, it's great. Hahahaha, Tom's comment to Bruno- "You are the creepiest chef ever." xD I'm laughing so hard! 18/30.

Next up, Derek and Bindi! Derek was born in Utah, but he lived in England for ten years when he was 12-22. Derek wants to do this kind of to represent his younger self. Oh my goodness, that dance was so beautiful. I was in total awe. There was so much grace and beauty, I was utterly transfixed. Bindi is phenomenal, and she and Derek are such a great partnership. UGH Carrie Ann's going to penalize them for having a lift. -_- IT WAS A PRETTY LIFT WHY MUST YOU TAKE OFF FOR IT WHYYYY. Erin is so right- Bindi is so sweet, she's literally a real life Disney Princess. (SHE IS GISELLE THAT'S IT) I think that Erin wants to have a sleepover;) 23/30.

Tony and Kim are dancing next! Tony is from war-ridden Kosovo, which made growing up really hard. Dance was his escape throughout all of that. The dance was really pretty:) Kim really has a lot of potential. She lost a bit of energy at times, but it was good overall. 18/30. (Edit: Apparently Kim had a stroke after the show- I wonder if she'll still be competing?)

Lindsay and Alek are next! Lindsay is from Utah, like Witney. Alex's been having some trouble this week with the stress. He's new to all of this, so I can see how it would be hard. He did a really good job on his dance though, to the song "American Girl". Carrie Ann was pretty hard on him- she's been hard on everyone tonight. She called them a power couple though, which was good. Bruno said that he's been the only one who danced on his toes. That's really good, most guys don't do that, they dance flat. 22/30.

Next on the floor, Karina and Victor! Karina is from Ukraine. She moved to America when she was fourteen, and it was a major culture shock. They danced to one of Karina's favorite songs, Girl on Fire. Karina did a really good job using the choreography to make up for the height difference. This was definitely Victor's best dance. He's so adorable, and he was super intense and awesome. I loved it. 20/30.

Dancing next, Sharna and Nick! Sharna is from Australia, and she's been away from it since she was eighteen. This has to be super hard for Sharna, because she never gets to see her grandmother and dad because they're both on kidney dialysis and can't come to visit her.
Wow, that dance was beautiful. The staging of it was very dark and classy, and the choreography and execution was gorgeous. I was in total awe. Loved it. 24/30.

Last up, Val and Tamar! Val is originally from Ukraine, but his parents came to New York to give them a better life. Oh my gosh, Tamar cracked me up. She did NOT want to do Val's idea about a girl coming after a guy and him coming out the door shirtless. Her sassiness is hilarious!
WOOOOOW. That dance was incredible! Tamar absolutely killed it. That was really difficult choreography, and she pulled it off flawlessly. Charleston is really hard, and I'm really surprised by how amazing that was, especially for week two. Loved it!! 25/30 (She got a nine!!! Wow!! That's only the second nine of the season!)

-----------------------------

Now time for everyone's LEAST favorite part of the night- elimination.

-----------------------------

The first couple in jeopardy is......Gary and Anna. NOOOO!

Joining them.....Victor and Karina.

-----------------------------

No!!! I love both of these couples!! I really don't want either of them to go home!!! :(:(:(:(:(

-----------------------------

Going home....Victor and Karina.

-----------------------------

That's so sad!! I hate to see him go, he's so sweet. I'll miss him.

-----------------------------

What did you think of the elimination? What did you think of the dances? Who is your favorite couple?

Dancing With The Stars- Week 2, Night One!!

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

IT'S HOMETOWN GLORY NIGHT!!!

(none of these photos are mine)

Apparently one person is going home tonight- oh no! I didn't think anyone would be eliminated until tomorrow! Ugh. Obviously I was oblivious.

First up, Nick and Sharna! His hometown is Tampa Bay, Florida. Nick is dedicating his dance to a teacher that he had when he was younger, which was sweet. He had some troubles with his shoes and he actually ended up throwing them off haha. His footwork wasn't great, and I thought he could have pointed his toes a bit more. It was a good performance though. The judges were kind of hard on him, in my opinion. It was a really fast dance, and I thought that it wasn't as bad as they said that it was.  21/30.

Next up, Paula and Louis! Paula was really upset by last week's scoring- hopefully this week she does better! Paula's hometown is Savannah, Georgia. It's really a beautiful city. Oh my goodness, I loved that dance!!! It was very beautiful and sensual, and then ending cracked me up. xD I really love to watch her! She has to work a bit on continuity of movement, but I was really impressed by her! She had a lot of grace, which was great to see. 19/30 (She should have gotten 7's.) Oh my gosh, the crowd was booing the scores, and Paula thought they were booing her xD It was hilarious!

Next to dance, Hayes and Emma! Hayes is from Mooresville, NC. I still don't know much about Hayes, but his package was sweet. The dance itself was good! It was very smooth, I liked it. 22/30.

Chaka and Keo are up next! Chaka's hometown is Chicago, Illinois. Her dance didn't have a lot of content to it, which was kind of disappointing. I feel like she could be pretty good, she has a lot of grace. She had a bit of trouble remembering the choreography as well, hopefully tomorrow night goes better if she's still in the competition. 15/30.

On the floor next, Andy and Allison! Andy's from Upstate New York. First off, I've just gotta say, I love the set! The flower/fruit stand, and the grate on the floor look so cool. Second, Allison is literally perfect, I love watching her dance. Lastly, that was great!!! The choreography was fabulous, it was so high speed. I really didn't think that it was that bad, the judges kind of tore it up. They said that it got really off, but I liked it. 21/30. (Also, can I just say that I loved his response? "Dancing is hard." xD )

Kim and Tony are up next! Kim's was born in Connecticut, but she's spent most of her life in Atlanta, Georgia. She did a LOT better this week than she did last week. I was pretty impressed. Last week she really wasn't very good, but she did really well tonight. 19/30

Next up, Alek and Lindsey! Alek is from Sacremento, California. Oh my goodness, I loved that. The song, the lifts, Lindsey's dress, the set...agh. I adored it. So pretty! It was a fabulous dance. So far, it's my favorite of the night! I'm really excited to see what else he does. I'm hoping that his lack of fame doesn't send him home early- he's one of my favorite contestants. I'll have to vote for him tonight. Oh my goodness, and those Obama jokes.. "Just wait till you teach Obama those lifts!" (He visited the White House earlier this week.) 23/30.

(They get two pictures because Alexa's makeup was on point.)

Alexa and Mark are next! Alexa is from Ocala, Florida. Can I just say, her outfit was amazing! The makeup was INCREDIBLE. DWTS's hair and makeup department is phenomenal. Their dance was really cool! I loved the concept, and Alexa killed it. 24/30. Will she beat Carlos tonight? ;)

Dancing next, Victor and Karina! Victor's hometown is just outside of Mexico City. Victor is absolutely adorable. He's so tiny and he seems really sweet. It's great. Oh my goodness, that dance was hilarious and great... I'm cracking up. 17/30.

Tamar and Val are up next. Tamar is from Maryland, and they're dancing to We Are Family. Haha, oh my gosh, "I don't want to thrust when I'm thinking about my family!" Tamar did a really good job, I liked the dance a lot. She's very sassy and sharp. She loses a bit of her performance when she's in hold, though. Otherwise, she's great. 24/30.

Next on the floor, Gary and Anna. Gary's hometown is Tulsa, Oklahoma. That was a really sweet dance:) Anna looked adorable! It wasn't perfect, but I liked it! Carrie Ann said that he didn't miss a step. Hahaha, Anna's reaction to score time- "Oh God, here we go..." They didn't do too badly, 18/30.

Carlos and Witney are up next! Carlos is from Columbia, Missouri. Haha, their package was so funny. I love Carlos and Witney as a pairing. They did really well!!! That dance was very graceful and pretty, it was gorgeous. 24/30- he tied with Alexa!!

Finishing up the night, Bindi and Derek!! Bindi is from Australia. :) Oh my goodness, I find it hilarious that Bindi's favorite music is hard rock. That's so great xD Oh my goodness, she is my favorite! Her facial expressions are seriously the best, and her dancing is phenomenal. 25/30- FIRST NINE OF THE SEASON!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

------------------------------------

Now time for elimination...

The first couple in jeopardy is...Chaka and Keo.

Also in jeopardy.......Gary and Anna.

------------------------------------

Going home is.....Chaka and Keo.

------------------------------------

That was a really great show!!! I can't wait for tomorrow night!!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Saturday, September 19, 2015

Hello, everyone!!! The end of yet another week.. So crazy to think that September is already over halfway over! Time is flying way too quickly. I'm not ready for the holiday season yet!

Let's see, this past week...it was fairly uneventful, to be honest. Kind of just going through the motions of activities, classes, homework, etc. Nothing too interesting to talk about. It was a good week though, even if it wasn't full of stories. There was a nice quiet rhythm to the week, but it was a fun week.

I've been trying to work on audition material for an upcoming musical audition. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND A SONG? IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD! Ugh. Theatre life is hard, guys.

Made Me Smile:

I FINALLY got my glasses! I'll have to post a picture of them soon, but I'm just relieved to finally get them!

One of my favorite stores was having a big summer clearance sale, and then their dresses were BOGO- I got a bunch of things, and it was very exciting!! :)

Having part of a class cancelled, and getting to spend around 2 1/2 hours with a friend:)

Getting an A on my first anatomy test- wasn't expecting that!

Laughing over crazy things with awesome people.

Ugh:

My favorite mascara going bad- whyyyy?

Not. Being. Able. To. Find. An. Audition. Song. To. Save. My. Life.

Being stuck on an essay topic. Apparently my life is fairly boring, at least in the area that my teacher is looking for.

Loving:

Guys, I have a new obsession- Essie nail polish! My friend gave me a bottle in the color "Borrowed and Blue", and I am extremely obsessed. I painted my nails on Tuesday night, and as of right now, they're just barely chipped, and only on my right hand. It's such a high quality polish, I need to get some more!

Reading Book of a Thousand Days- I finished it!

Hand lettering- I'm becoming obsessed. It's the one form of art that I'm able to do!! It's pretty fun writing out quotes and song lyrics that I love. I made five or six for my sister yesterday afternoon! (I admit, the majority of these are Ed Sheeran lyrics...)

Finally getting the hang of a song on piano, and just being able to play it, without struggling over the notes. Such a great feeling.

Pinning:

Lego House is one of my favorite song, so the fact that there's a pillow with the lyrics is amazing. I want this!!!

I want these...

There's something about Pinterest that makes you want to learn to bake..

This made me laugh harder than it should have..
