Happy Halloween!!!!

Friday, October 31, 2014

Happy Halloween everybody! Wow, I can't believe it's already Halloween! October has absolutely flown by. I don't know about you, but I'm super excited for tonight!!! :)
Don't forget to put your pumpkin carving skills to the test! I wonder how my pumpkin will turn out this year??
I don't know about you, but I have OCCD- Obsessive Candy Corn Disorder!! Don't look at me like that! It...it doesn't exist? Really?!? ....looks like I've been wasting money on those therapy visits...
Do you still go trick or treating? There's always a debate- how old is too old for trick or treating? Whatever people say, I still go. It's free candy. You're never too old for free candy. If you're too old for free candy, I think YOU'RE the one who needs to be seeing a therapist!!! ;)
Well, I hope that you all have a wonderful, fun-filled Halloween!!! :)

The Super-Mega-Uber-Awesome DIY Costume Post!!!!!

Thursday, October 30, 2014

(just a note for you all, I wrote this yesterday, so it's kind of in past tense..)

Hey everybody! First off, I'm really sorry I've been so inactive. I was out of town for a few days (a post on that soon!!!!), and then I was absolutely crammed with schoolwork. Chemistry is BRUTAL. -_- So, I've been really sad that I couldn't do more Halloween posts, but it have one more for you all before the big day tomorrow! Drumroll please.....

I figured that I owed you guys one final Halloween post, and to make up for the week I went without posting, I'm making it a huge blowout post!!! I hope you enjoy!!!! I spent the entire afternoon working on these costumes, so I really hope you like them. Without further ado... Here you go!! :)

#1. Cute Cat!!

Prep time: 15 Minutes

I have to say, this one is one of my favorites. It's so fun, and so simple! Plus, it's so cute and comfy!!
So, all that this costume needs is a black top (I used the holey sweater I talked about a while ago), black leggings or yoga pants (I wore Danskin leggings), and some black shoes. I wore these cute suede boots I got a few years ago from Payless, but if I wear this for Halloween, I'll probably wear the wedge booties I talked about a few weeks ago, because they're more comfortable. :)
For hair and makeup, I went for something fairly simple. For hair, I just did two high pigtails, but you could also do two buns, or wear felt cat ears. Then for my makeup, I just did winged eyeliner (which took AGES to get even :P ), drew a little heart-shaped nose, and added some cute little whiskers with liquid eyeliner. It all could be done within a matter of minutes, so it's cute AND fast!!
Andddd... Here's the final look! Isn't it cute? I love it. I look SO pale in these outdoor pictures, it's weird. :P

#2. Hipster Rapunzel

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

So, I kind of love Rapunzel. Plus, I've been told I look like her, which makes it even more fun!!
So, all you need are purple skinny jeans, and a light pink top. I added a white jacket since the only top I had was a tank top, and I didn't want to freeze.

I love this! So, all I did for makeup was basic makeup with some pale pink lipstick. I added purple flower earrings, braided my hair, and put some cute flowers in it. The nerd glasses add a bit of Hipster flair. And what is Rapunzel without her frying pan for protection?? I thought it was the perfect finishing touch :)

#3. Hipster Elsa

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Since I was doing Rapunzel, I thought I would also do her cousin, Elsa! Ever since I saw Frozen, I just can't seem to...let it go. ;)
This costume is similar to the Rapunzel one. White skinny jeans, a pale blue tank top, and the white denim jacket. This outfit was really easy to put together, and oh so fun!!
Cute, huh? I reused the nerd glasses from my Rapunzel outfit, French braided my hair, and added some snowflake earrings and red lipstick. This was a super fast and easy costume, and I thought it turned out great. :)

#4. Halloween? Whatever.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

So, this costume is for everyone who got so busy with life, that you didn't get to make a costume! Maybe you found yourself home on the couch when the first Trick-or-Treaters came to the door, and you're sitting around in old sweats. You might as well make yourself look cute! So, here's a five minute outfit that's adorable for Halloween!!
Literally all this costume requires is a Halloween top and a pair of black leggings. Easy!! :)
See? Simple AND cute! For hair and makeup, I just did a pony with a stretchy black headband, and basic, everyday makeup. I thought that the candy corn earrings added a perfect touch! Then again, I have more earrings than is probably socially acceptable, so...

#5. Cruella DeVil

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

I think that Cruella DeVil is a really fun character. She's so wacky, that this costume was so fun to put together!!
This one has the most pieces of any costume. I used a black tank top, a white denim jacket, a black scarf, this skirt I found at a thrift store, black leggings, and black character shoes. (Basically just heels)
Isn't it funny? I love it! All I added was some red lipstick, and then I teased my hair. My sister's Dalmatian was "volunteered", on the promise that I didn't hurt it haha.
Had to send one more pic!

So, what did you guys think? Which one should I wear for Halloween tonight? Again, I'm so sorry I haven't been able to post. :( I've missed it!!!! Let me know what you all think of this post in the comments section!!!

A DIY Costume!

Monday, October 20, 2014

So, what did y'all think of that teaser I posted yesterday? So, today I have the full costume for you all! I went to a Halloween event last night, and I wanted to create a costume instead of buying it. After looking at a bunch of ideas online, I decided to go for this look....
Hipster Snow White!!!!!
So, what do you think? This costume was sooo much fun! It was also super easy, which was a perk. All that it consisted of was-

-Red Ribbon ( you can't see it but it was in my hair )
-Royal blue top (Hollister)
-Yellow shorts (Target)
-Apple earrings (optional)
-Nerd Glasses
-Red Keds

It's that simple! Here's a close up of me being my crazy self, and you can see my makeup look-

This picture made me look sooooo pale!! I did pale makeup for Snow, BUT I'M NOT THAT WHITE!! Agh. So, for the makeup, I did-

-Pale foundation (used the Elf tone corrector!)
-Lots of mascara
-Blush
-BRIGHT red lipstick
-Gold eyeshadow

Again, super simple! So, what do you all think???

Sneak Peek!

Sneak peek of my upcoming Halloween post!!!!

My Bestest Beauty Tip!!

Friday, October 17, 2014

Okay ladies, I'm here to share with you the beauty product that has absolutely changed my LIFE. I'm not kidding here. This one product has made an amazing difference in my complexion, and I absolutely had to share it.
Elf Tone Correcting Powder.
I got it from Target-where else?-for....THREE DOLLARS. Isn't that great? For those of you who don't know, my love for E.L.F. products is eternal. Here's a few more pics..
Sorry for the weirdness of these pictures. I took them from my tablet, so they kind of stink haha. :/
So, each of the four colors does something individually, or you can blend them all together. Either way, it's amazing. The yellow cancels dark circles, the pink neutralizes gray, the blue neutralizes orange, and my personal favorite, the green, gets rid of all redness, while at the same time brightens everything up. This powder has honestly saved my life. My old foundation powder didn't blend with my skin well enough, and this is perfect. All I do is apply my liquid foundation like I always would, and then blend this all over my face. My skin has been so much brighter and has appeared to be so much clearer ever since I've worn this. My skin naturally gets red super easily, and I don't struggle with that anymore. It doesn't feel cakey, and it just feels so light. On days when I'm really tired, I can just apply this without the liquid foundation, and I still look alright! Typically, I just do the yellow under my eyes, and the green all over my face. This is honestly my new favorite beauty product by FAR. You lovely ladies have to try it!!! :)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! <3

Crafting!!

Thursday, October 16, 2014

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd share these two bracelets that I've made. :) I've been making jewelry since I was nine or so, and I love it, although I never seem to have enough time to make it. So, what do you all think?

Hope you're all having a great week! :)

My Ramblings

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

Hi everyone! So... I was told by a friend of mine who reads this that I needed to blog, so..here I am! I have to be honest... I don't actually have anything prepared for this. Yeah. The bad blogger in me has come out again. I've been super busy lately, so... slacking off! I promise I'll work on some new stuff for y'all, though!!
Oh! I found a quote for you lovely ladies! I have to say that I agree 100%....
Isn't this SO true? The higher the heels, the better!!! :D

And...that's all I've really got. Agh. Sorry! I'll try to get some better stuff up soon!! :)

I Did It!!!!

Saturday, October 11, 2014

Guess what, guys?????? I did it! I baked! And I didn't kill anyone! It tasted good!! I'm thrilled, as you can tell. :) (See, Oh One I Shall Not Name But Was Texting Earlier? I didn't blow up anything!) So, I got this idea from Pinterest (where else?), partially because it looked really good, and partially because hey, it's kind of hard to screw up Rice Krispies!! So, I'm quite proud of these, what do you think?

Aren't they cute?? I think that they're absolutely adorable. They're also SUPER easy, which is good if you're like me. :) I was a bad blogger and didn't take pictures as I went along, mainly because I was so worried about messing them up, and partially because I sort of-kind of...forgot. Yep, shame on me. Bad girl, bad!!
So here's the procedure for the Frankensteins and Ghosts!

1. Make your basic Rice Krispy recipe, with Rice Krispies, marshmallows, and butter. Yeah, it's bad for you, but oh well. Yum! :)
2. Split the recipe into two bowls. Leave the bowl for the ghosts alone, and add some green dye to the Frankenstein bowl. Or in my case, lots of green dye. It's so fun! Be careful though, or it will end up all over your floor. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.
3. Time to shape the Rice Krispies. Round the ghosts into a kind of oval-ghosty shape. Yep, I made that a word. Next, put your Frankenstein mix into a rectangular pan, and cut it into smaller rectangle shapes. Just a word of advice, spray some Pam onto your hands before you shape the ghosts and Frankensteins so that the mix doesn't stick to your hands. And above all, DO NOT BREATHE IN THE PAM! Again, not speaking from personal experience. At. All.
4. Let the shapes set for a little while. Enjoy some time to do NOTHING! :D Yes, I just gave you permission to do nothing. You're welcome.
5. Time to melt the chocolate! I melted the white chocolate first, and then spread it around on the ghosts. It was SUPER simple, for which I was eternally grateful. The Frankensteins were a bit more complicated, but not extremely difficult. I just dipped the top of the Frank's head into the milk chocolate, then dragged a fork through it to make it scraggly looking. Again, not too difficult! Yay!
6. Time for eyes! On the ghosts, I just put two little chocolate chips on for eyes, and for the Franks, I used candy eyeballs attached with some leftover white chocolate. Easy!
7. At this point, the ghosts are finished. All that's left to do for the Franks is the mouth. I put some leftover chocolate into a Baggie, cut a *tiny* hole, and squeezed it into the shape I wanted. So simple!
8. Aaaaaaand...you're done! Enjoy your delicious Rice Krispy treats! Put them on sticks, eat them all in the next ten minutes...it's now up to you! ;D

So, I'm really happy with how they turned out! If you guys try this recipe, let me know how it goes! Now, I'm off to eat a Frankenstein! Or should I eat a ghost? Decisions, decisions....

Shopping Day + My New Best Friends!!! :D

Friday, October 10, 2014

Ah, shopping. So fun! After doing some school this morning, I went shopping this afternoon with my mom and my grandma. Love it! Here was my hair for the day, I thought it looked kind of cute, if I do say so myself. (Which I do!) If you guys like it, I can do a tutorial, it was super simple. Had to straighten it first, so that it wouldn't look like a giant puffball of waves haha.

So what do you think? Anyone want a tutorial?

OH! I need to introduce you all to some very special new friends of mine. We've only known each other a week, but we've gotten quite close. (To any of my friends who may be reading this...erm.. well this is awkward...)

Aren't they beeeeeauuuutiful???? :D I love them. <3
Sorry this picture kind of stinks :P But hey, these babies can only look so bad! :D I'm not obsessed or anything... But Target has yet again given me great joy! :) Ah, how I love Target!!! Here's a couple more pictures...because I totally wasn't obsessing over taking tons of pictures of them...
Love this pic! You can see the jeans I was wearing today, too, they're from target as well, haha. :)
Sorry about the tag in this one, I'm somewhat paranoid about taking the tag off until the last possible second..
OH! So, when we were at the mall, I found the perfect prom shoes. (Extreme sarcasm on the word 'perfect') I thought I'd try them on and take a few pictures for you guys..
HAWT!! So much fierceness, am I right? Hahahaha how about no...
Okay, so I admit, they're kind of cute. But they HURT! Sorry my nails are awful looking. I wore the booties for a reason guys...
So needless to say, these were not a purchase. I did get this cute navy and white striped hoodie from Ross for $7.99! I thought that was a great deal. :) I didn't take a picture of that, and I'm too lazy to get up and actually do it haha. I'm sitting here on a beanbag blogging and watching Pocahontas 2...I didn't even know that there WAS a Pocahontas 2!!! How did I miss this? Considering that I'm a huge Disney fan, I don't know HOW I missed this. This is confusing me. How. Did. I. Miss. This??? Sorry, I'm done ranting...
So, that was basically my day. Trying to think if there's anything else interesting to tell you guys. I'll try to fix up some more posts for you all over the weekend. :) I'm probably going to *try* baking again, so we'll see how that goes. I get the feeling I'll be posting a new baking fail. -_- Oh well, at least you guys can enjoy my failure. ;)
Well, that's all for now! I'll post more over the weekend. :) Have a great weekend!

xoxo

A Quote I Love

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

Hey ladies! So, today I decided to share a post with you all from my second blog,                                   http://crazyfor39clues.blogspot.com . If you haven't checked it out yet, you totally should. :) Anyways, so this is one of my favorite quotes, and I wanted to share it on this blog as well. Let me know what you think!!

~Nellie Gomez

Okay, so I typically don't give commentary on the quotes that I do every day, but this is honestly my absolute FAVORITE quote by Nellie Gomez, so I had to put a little blurb of my thoughts in here. (Yes, the annoying blogger is ranting again. She will shut up soon, I promise!) Anyway, I think that this quote is just so absolutely, wonderfully Nellie. She doesn't let stupid stuff get to her, like the hot archeologist who turns out to be a thieving jerk, or, as she so perfectly puts it, a lying worm. I also think that this quote is so great by itself, even apart from the 39 Clues series. I have a lot of friends who get super upset over guys, and honestly, I think that Nellie has the perfect outlook as far as it goes. To any ladies reading this right now, take note! So your Theo ends up stabbing you in the back. Yes, it's upsetting, I get it. But honestly? Get over it. He's not worth it. Quote Nellie to yourself, a million times if you have to, "I am WAY too fabulous for that." Because you are. Ladies, we're fabulous. So ditch the Theo, and be a Nellie. :)

Cats + Pumpkins = Amazingness!

Tuesday, October 7, 2014

Oh my goodness. It's a jack-o-lantern. And it's a cat. All at once. If this isn't fall amazingness, I don't know what is! If you don't know me, (in which case, welcome! Nice to meet ya!) then you should know something. I absolutely ADORE cats. Like, to a point where it's almost obsessive. I only have one cat, but I have the feeling I'll end up alone, with my cats.... Just kidding. Kind of. ;)
Anyways, so, needless to say, I love this jack-o-lantern. I mean, Halloween and cats-what could be better? :) ^.,.^

My Almost-Epic-Fail : Baking Style

Sunday, October 5, 2014

If you know me in real life, your first thought upon seeing the title was probably, "Grace Anne, why did you try to bake? Are you trying to kill someone???" You see, I don't exactly have the best history with baking. As in, I'm the girl who's able to screw up a muffin mix. Yep. I've done that. Multiple times. Don't ask.
But, since it's October, I thought, "Why not try to do some Halloween baking? Come on. Surely you can find SOMETHING that works out!"
I have yet to find that something.
So foolish, innocent me ran to the place that we all go to for creative recipes- Pinterest. I soon found a cute cupcake idea that I decided I would try. It seemed simple enough- a basic chocolate cupcake, with cream cheese icing swirled into the shape of a ghost on top. Simple. Delicious. What's not to love? As it turned out, quite a bit.
I started out with the cupcake. They actually turned out pretty good! True, it was a box mix, but still- I did it! For me, that's good. Next, the nightmare began. The icing.
It seemed simple enough- a basic cream cheese icing recipe. I've done that before, and I love cream cheese, so it sounded fabulous. It started out alright, mixing up cream cheese and butter, vanilla, and powder sugar. That's where my problem started. The icing was WAAAAY too thin. Like, drippy. Looking at this picture, it kind of looks like pancake mix. Wow. Good job, self, good job. There was no way that I'd be able to form cute swirly ghosts out of that. I took a picture for you all of my lovely thin icing..
Note the dripping from the beaters. Yep. I made that.
So it was obvious by this point that my initial plan would not work out. After talking with my mom about what on earth I could do to save this poor icing, we decided to make the ghosts with whipped cream instead of icing, and to use the cream cheese icing on some yummy pumpkin bars. We also used some of the icing on a couple of cupcakes with a little mallow creme pumpkin for a fall twist. So, how does it all look?
We also made pumpkin bars, but they aren't really photo-worthy. (plus, I'm awful at pictures, so, y'know...)
Anyways, they don't look perfect, but they taste AMAZING. So, at least they taste good! I'm kind of disappointed that they aren't cutesy, but hey, they're delicious. :) So what do you guys think? Any funny food fails?

New Post Tomorrow

Saturday, October 4, 2014

So, I really wanted to post for you all today, but I'm in the middle of a post with several pictures, (spoiler alert-food fail!!) so I'll have it ready tomorrow. Tune in to see! :)

Happy October!! <3

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Happy October!!!! Gosh, I can't believe that it's already October...kind of scary, to be honest. Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving, and then Christmas! Agh, let's not think about that. Let's think about October!
First off, I just want to apologize. Frankly, I haven't been a very good blogger lately. I've barely been posting lately, and I'm sorry. I've been either crunched for time or lacking ideas. Still, this blog is important to me, and I'm hoping to do a better job with it this month.
Now that I have that off my chest, back to October! Now, fall honestly isn't my favorite time of year; I tend to enjoy spring and summer a bit more, however, I'm trying to have a positive outlook on the month. I do have to say, October does have some pretty good aspects. Pretty soon, sweater weather will be starting up, and who doesn't love an adorable sweater?? It's starting to get a bit chillier here in the south, with just a bit of a nip in the air that makes you think of crunching leaves and evenings by the fire. The leaves have even begun to change! One of the trees in our yard is beginning to take on its orange tint, a sure sign that fall is upon us.
I have to say, October does have one major thing going for it- Halloween!! I don't know about you, but I adore Halloween. I have a severe sweet tooth, so the thought of free candy is extremely appealing to me. (Yes, I still trick-or-treat. Am I too old for it? Probably. Do I care? Nope!) Plus, I really love dressing up. It's so much fun! I suppose it comes from my obsession with all things theatre, but I think that it's a ton of fun to create a costume, do the hair and makeup, and then get to show it off. So Halloween holds a lot of appeal to me. :)
I'm beginning to plan out some of my blog posts for the month as well. *Sigh* How I wish I was one of those bloggers who has her posts planned out months in advance, just waiting to be posted. Alas, I'm just not that organized. I'm thinking of doing a bunch of Halloween posts for you all, with costumes and recipes. What do you think?
Well, thank you all for reading! I hope that your October is absolutely fabulous!!! :) <3
